Samsung Introduced Sam, The New Virtual Mobile Assistant, And The Internet Flooded with Memes

Most smartphones come with a virtual assistant on board, although some have proven to be more helpful and, by association, popular than others. Out of the numerous principal virtual assistants out there, Samsung’s Bixby tends to get a short end as almost every person prefers to use Google Assistant. But thankfully, social media is currently on fire over a new Samsung Virtual Assistant named SAM.

Meet Samsung Sam! Although no official word of the fictional character replacing Bixby has emerged.

Sam, according to Polygon, is the creation of Lightfarm, a visual production firm. And while a now-deleted page filed under ‘Samsung Virtual Assistant’ had several renders and pics of Sam published online, no official word of Sam being Bixby’s replacement has equally emerged. The rumors only go that Lightfarm made Sam following a partnership with Cheil Agency, which happens to be a marketing company operating under the Samsung group.

Polygon’s further reports pointed out that Sam was being created a while back but never used by Samsung in their marketing campaigns. As seen, Sam is, however, a bright-eyed girl with shoulder-length hair and looks like she could perfectly fit in a Pixar film. Likewise, Sam appears to have a love of Samsung products. Nevertheless, since the emergence of Sam, she has become a trend on TikTok and Twitter, where there are now plenty of Fanarts.

Sam is undeniably the internet’s new fictional it-girl. People form a relationship with Sam, engage the fictional character as though she’s someone they’ve known. This has happened with Lady Dimitrescu character from Resident Evil: Village, but now it seems as though Samsung’s Sam now has the crown. At this time of writing, Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed Sam’s existence, so we guess Bixby still has a life for more days, months, or years.
