Manchester United agrees to £64.4million fee – Bidding would guarantee signing

The Manchester United fans must have been frustrated by the transfer drama surrounding Frenkie de Jong’s future, but there have been some positive developments in the club recently.

Barca manager Xavi wants Bernardo Silva signed from Manchester City. The Portuguese international is thrilled about the possibility of playing at Nou Camp.

The Catalan source has however stated that De Jong’s departure from Barca was linked to the arrival of the ex-Monaco man.

Man Utd has raised the offer and is willing to pay 75 million Euros (PS64.4million), to reach an agreement with La Liga’s giants.

According to Sport, De Jong would be sold to Man Utd if the PS64.4 million bid reaches Barca. The Spanish side would then move ahead with Silva, the Premier League champion.

Erik ten Hag wants to take the 25-year-old to Old Trafford. The 52-year-old coach trained by the Dutch international, who was one of the key players in Ajax’s win of the domestic double and made it to the semifinals of the CL for the 2018-19 season.

Barca’s performance has declined since their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield (2019), and De Jong hasn’t been able to perform at his best in Spain.

Ten Hag is well-versed in the characteristics of his compatriot and can draw the best from him. If the dutchman joins Man Utd, he will have to give up Champions League football next season.
